Two
very important things to know as a coach:
The player
always come first!
The game is
the greatest teacher!
Coaches are teachers
and we need to be knowledgeable about children and about
soccer. Check out the MASSYouth soccer and take a course, they are a great
learning experience and a lot
of fun as well!
Remember, RYS
will reimburse any coaches license you succesfully

The Four Aspects of Soccer
 |
Technique |
Mastery of the ball,
ball control, ball playing ability.
Comfort and stability with the ball. Ways to
dribble
pass, receive, shoot, tackle and head the ball. |
 |
Tactics |
Decision making,
thinking about the game, understanding
situations, anticipating. Reading the game,
thinking fast and
thinking well. |
 |
Fitness |
Strength, endurance,
speed, quickness, agility, flexibility,
power. Basically a good athlete. |
 |
Mentality |
Aggressiveness, mental
toughness, resiliency, competitive
spirit, sportsmanship. Relentless fighting power
and aggressiveness
combined with a dignified, incompromisingly
sporting attitude. |
